Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the Best item upgrader ways to improve your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. The bonus is according to the rarity and level of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. You can acquire them by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or purchasing them from karma sellers. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components or through salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed by removing them from the item.

The main function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be forged for extra bonuses. For instance, a specially crafted glyph will boost the upgrade chance of its target, while an upgrade boost will enhance the defense or attack property of a weapon, or armor.

Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will show the upgrade components to which the item can be upgraded. Alternately, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item gains when upgraded using that component. For instance, organic components give an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment and then move on to mechanical upgrades.

Each item upgrade comes with an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of upgrades available is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon with the tier 10. However, the most common upgrade item for weapons is the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at minimum once. The upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade an item or set piece, it will receive an increase of +1 to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, primary stats are boosted even further (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Rerolling

A player is able to play rerolling any item that they acquire during the game, provided they have enough reroll tokens.
