WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrade that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased from Item Level Upgrade upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item upgrading when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them properly.
