It can be a real pain to lose or have your car keys stolen. If you have an extra key, adding an additional key to your car is relatively inexpensive and simple.

If the issue persists after having tried all of these options, you can try reprogramming your ignition key. This is done by changing (in reverse Hex) the number count to zero in the ECU. It is necessary to open the case of your key fob to accomplish this. The easiest way to do this is by removing the emergency key from the fob. Once this is done, you can use a flathead screwdriver to open the case and expose the battery. Do not spill liquids or drop them into the fob, as this can cause damage to electronic components.
