The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding production facilities abroad, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was an attempt to return to the traditional sextet style, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex and less akin to previous efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live show that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The studio album came out a few months later, and the group went on a long-distance tour to promote the album. During this period, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and 스포츠토토 bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began searching through old tapes & demos to discover songs that had never been recorded prior to. It was completed as a double-album titled Then & Now in 2001. It was the first album in the band's history not to include any single song that had the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from a serious laryngitis condition which hampered his singing. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes and the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in early 2006 to discuss the possibility of officially reforming the group. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was busy with Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
