Three Wheeled Buggies

Whether you're seeking a buggy to run around in or a stroller that can be used for neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver even in tight spots.

If you want a smooth ride with your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels with swivel. However, they are more prone to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with a repair kit.

New figures show that three-wheeled buggies, the emblem of the noughties, which were more expensive than common sense, are in steep decline. Four-wheelers are replacing them, and are more flexible and simple to drive while still looking elegant.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with a newborn baby and a toddler and found it to be extremely durable. It was able to handle cobbles, grass and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt solid to push, and very solid on difficult terrain. Its tyres, which are inflated and require to be pumped up occasionally, have built-in suspension. This was extremely comfortable for my kids.

The size and shape of the seat is another aspect to consider. It is important for the seat to be large enough to allow your child to feel at ease and to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies have the option of reclining completely, while others allow the parent to be facing one.

An excellent option for taking on off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. The buggy can be used as a single from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth to age 4 and includes a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a large padded seat. Wheels with larger diameter

Larger wheels give your buggy more stability when driving over rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies that are off-road. They also allow you to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability at which they can be pushed. This is particularly useful when you bump against the kerb or a tree. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to avoid hitting it.

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide, and they may be a challenge to fit in tight spaces. This is an issue especially if you're using it to a jogger or to to get through narrow doorways when out and out and about. Luckily, most models have compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels to make compact storage.

Easy to Manoeuvre

A three-wheeled buggy is more maneuverable for a child. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels can rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to navigate, making them ideal for challenging terrain such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her infant and toddler and stated: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground, with the swivel front wheel being particularly helpful. I was also awed by how well it coped with kerbs, especially when using the hand-operated brake. It was very stable for descending or on uneven terrain."

The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel push chair-wheel buggy may make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something to be aware of if your home area is an urban area. If this is an issue then a 4-wheeler might be better for you.

Kath, our MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of this buggy. There's a large easy-to-access basket that's huge for a buggy of this size as well as an excellent zip-up pouch on the rear of the seat unit and even two smaller mesh pockets in the hood to keep your phone and keys.
