Mrs Hinch has revealed her 16p air fryer hack that means she doesn't have to wash the appliance after every use.

Earlier this week, the cleaning guru, 32, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, shared the tip with her 4.6m Instagram followers.

In a series of clips filmed in the , the mother-of-two explained how she recently purchased the exact same Article Ninja air fryer as her cousin.

The appliances - which have recently surged in popularity thanks to their energy-efficient design - mimic the effect of a deep-fat fryer and cook food by rapidly circulating hot air.

Now, Sophie has started using a baking liner in her appliance, so that she doesn't have to give it a thorough scrub after every use.

The mother-of-two's tip prevents the drawer becoming contaminated with every use. Sophie simply places a baking liner in the drawer before turning the air fryer on.

Gushing over the device, Sophie said: 'I bought it because my cousin's got one and she said it was amazing so I got the same one as her.'

But rather than giving it a wipe down after each and every use, Sophie has come up with a method to make her device last longer between deep-cleans.

Before placing food in the drawer to cook, Sophie simply pops a baking liner inside so it doesn't contaminate the sides.

She added: 'These are from Amazon they're baking liners and I use them to keep it quite clean inside.'

Sophie's  are available to buy on Amazon for £6.49 for 40 - meaning each one only set her back 16p.

More energy-efficient than an oven and less costly than a microwave, demand for air-fryers has shot up in recent weeks amid the cost-of-living crisis.

Ben Gallizzi, energy expert at Uswitch.com, told FEMAIL: 'Cooking in a conventional oven is one of the most common ways to prepare dinner, but it is often more expensive to run than other kitchen appliances.

'Ovens are usually large enough to cook multiple dishes at the same time, so there's a lot of energy being wasted if you're only cooking on one shelf.

'Air fryers are much more efficient as they tend to be smaller than ovens, and their quicker cooking time means they use less energy overall.

As a general rule, when cooking a meal in an air fryer, you can halve the time you would typically use in an oven. Similarly, microwaves cook much faster than an oven and so use far less energy and will save you money.'
