Other than that however, this refrigerator is a great option. It has a huge freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French-door refrigerators. It also holds plenty of frozen food compared to other models.

The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about par for an French door refrigerator that costs this much. It has a decent sized freezer in the left side. But it's not the most spacious one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in each compartment to create a customized storage layout for whatever you have to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting adds a nice feature. The in-door storage bins include a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their textured plastic coatings to be a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also has numerous options for customizing. It also gives you notifications when a door is left open, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This fridge is perfect for a single family or a kitchenette with a built-in appearance and top-of-the highest quality food preservation.

This fridge was rated the top in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never fluctuating by more than a fraction one degree. This is crucial in preventing freezing burn. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, as well, such as sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of items. It has a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate one for ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the fridge's temperature as well as lighting via your smartphone. It's a simple method to monitor your fridge and manage it, especially when you're away from home.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't cost you a fortune and isn't expensive, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It has a simple design that's not as striking visually as other models but it does have enough features to make it a good choice. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food like vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser as well as a good ice maker that operates quickly.

Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This feature can be adjusted by using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the generic settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the fridge didn't differ much from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our ratings.
