UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time the handles on your doors will wear down and need to be changed. It is crucial to be able to match the dimensions of the window handles for upvc that were previously used when replacing them.

The design of many modern cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attacks by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to prevent attacks and protect your doors.

There are also cylinders that are made to resist snapping. This is a more frequent method of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is smashed with a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a lot faster and less difficult than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves little evidence of a break-in which could hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle backplate, providing a spring solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after using. There was a time when these types of handle did not have a spring built into them, and as a result, they can droop or 'drop' once the locking mechanism has been disengaged. This component is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also helps prevent your door from getting stuck in either the closed or open position since they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a hole specifically cut in the backplate to allow them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut-out that accommodates an 8mm spindle and are sold as a set.

These spring cassettes are a great value solution to the problem of door handles that have become sagging. They are simple to install and will prolong the life span of your uPVC doors.
