WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item level upgrade by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item upgrader mod, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. Another notable change is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
