The most effective method to test it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is operational, it should read around 1000 ohms. 2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at full speed I noticed a massive reduction in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or, my injectors were not firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs. Three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth was dry. I put tissue over each injector hole and when i start the engine with no sparks, the three with gazoline jump right out. The 4th one stays closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I assume that the problem is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it runs fine with the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I'm not sure what to do, as i feel i have pretty much ruled out everything else. However, i'm afraid that i might have missed something. Let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and Audi Tt Key RS2 vehicles. You can easily find a spare in a wrecking shop or parts store. Testing them is easy to do - just put your DMM in resistance mode and take measurements between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's end up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector's side).
