UPVC Replacement Door Handles

As time passes the handles on your doors will wear down and need to be changed. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the old handle.

Inline Lever/Lever

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are usually found on upvc door handles replacement doors, but they can be utilized on other types of door. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned with the pins in the lock body and allowing them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with internal and external doors typically having different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder is essential. It depends on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. External doors, for example should be equipped with cylinders that are more secure and doors inside can be secured with the standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can improve security, such as anti drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be measured accurately to ensure that it is the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however in the event that this is not possible, you may take it off to measure. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, therefore it is important that it's not too long.
